Future Heirlooms - American Hardwood Export Council

We are proud to announce the completion of our design for the Turkish edition of 'Future Heirlooms'. Our design 'Checkered' - a bench for boardgames

The design will be exhibited in Istanbul: 7-30 September 2023 at the Circle Space.

Future Heirlooms is a global project initiated by AHEC where designers are invited to think freely in order to create an object or a piece of furniture that fully encapsulates the themes of sustainability, longevity, and quality.

The project is designed to celebrate the discovery of Turkey's next generation of emergent designers and demonstrate how good design and quality hardwoods of light environmental impact with timeless designs producing ‘heirlooms’ that last in contrast to the current throwaway culture of disposable furniture. The project is organized in partnership with The Circle and Yonga Mobilya, drawing attention to the potential value of design, materials, and workmanship, deployed during the production of hand-crafted furniture, which may become family heirlooms, passed down from generation to generation, remaining a lasting part of our lives.
