During the pandemic, we started looking into everyday bio-waste materials that can be used to design everyday items, one of them was eggshell. Throughout history, many different cultures have used eggshells as a medium for decorations, from Easter traditions to traditional Chinese eggshell carvings and eggshell paintings. By utilizing the eggshell as a design material for contemporary design items, food waste that would otherwise end up in the landfill can be elegantly integrated into interior spaces and be part of the everyday conversations around the table to bring a new perspective to the topic of food cycle and sustainability.
