Bite-Sized Design — a chocolate exhibition for Melbourne Design Week x NGV curated by R L Foote Design Studio.
We are delighted to share that our new work, Yellowdot’s Dozen, has been selected as part of an international group exhibition that brings together architects, artists, and designers to explore architecture, scale, form, and spatial thinking through edible design.
Developed from Studio Yellowdot’s ongoing exploration of egg & eggshell as both material and metaphor, Yellowdot’s Dozen transforms a dozen eggs into a single shifting form — where fragile individual eggs are merged into one continuous body.
The clustered composition balances fragility and structure—each shell delicate alone, yet resilient in accumulation. Familiar yet subtly uncanny, the work reimagines the egg as a collective form shaped by chance, touch, and time. It also draws on the shared memory of chocolate eggs—playful, abundant, often gathered in multiples—here condensed into one gesture, where repetition becomes unity and the everyday object turns into a quiet monument of transformation.
Bite-sized Design is a unique exhibition exploring architecture, design, scale, in chocolate forms. A special exhibition during Melbourne Design Week that features over 200 chocolate designs by Ryan L Foote and designers from around the world. We are excited to invite you to join our opening on May 19 from 5-8 pm, try out chocolates and see hundreds of creative designs on a drastically reduced scale.
